Sunday School

We have a variety of Sunday School classes that meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 A.M. These classes are designed to help young men and ladies with their spiritual walk during this period of life.  We have classes for Junior High and High School boys and girls.  More information about Sunday School.

Afternoon Program

On Sunday afternoons, we have a program for teenagers.  The Afternoon Program is led by Matt & Nickole Bailey and Bro. Brad Ostlon.  The teens are taught basic life skills ranging from changing a tire for the teen guys, and learning how to cook for the teen ladies.  The afternoon program starts at 2:00 P.M. and everyone will be fed before the evening service.

Friday Teen Activity

Each Friday night we have a teen activity for all our teenagers.  We meet at the church at 6:30 and will provide rides home if necessary.  Our general standing rule is that teens will be home no later than midnight.  We want to provide a Christian atmosphere with good friends for our teens on Friday nights.  Activities range from bowling, sledding, or hiking to special church services or work nights.  The cost is $5 per teen.  The teens are always fed and we end the night with red-hot preaching.

There are some basic rules for those attending Friday night:

1. 1. Young men must wear long pants and a collared shirt

2. 2. Young men must remove earrings

3. 3. Young ladies must wear a skirt below the knees and a modest top

4. 4. Teens must have been in church the Sunday before.

5. 5. Bad attitudes will not be tolerated.

Young Fundamentalist Conference

Northern Lights Baptist Church hosts a conference each year for teenagers of Independent Baptist Churches in Alaska.  This conference is held the first week of June and is always a challenging time for teenagers.  The theme for YFC is Life More Abundant!

Teen Camp

Northern Lights Baptist Church holds teen camp once a year for our teens.  These camps are designed to change the lives of our teenagers.  Our teen camp is closed to those outside our church membership.  Camp is a time for us to pull teenagers away from their normal realm of life and “preach the devil out of them”.  A common statement we hear each year is, “The first day I could not wait for the preaching to get over so we could play more games. By the end I couldn’t wait for the games to get over so we could hear more preaching.”

Teen camp is one of the most exciting events of Northern Lights Baptist Church and is responsible for the great number of godly teenagers we have.
